We are so excited to be carrying the classic Canadian brand Cougar and their amazing waterproof boots! Based in Burlington, Ontario since 1948- Cougar started when Walter Sedlbauer immigrated to Canada and purchased an old Parachute factory in Burlington. Now renowned for their quality and comfort, they use special tanning and waterproofing techniques with advanced cushioning technology to make sure your shoes are comfortable and long-lasting. We love these boots because they have a retro vibe with a totally timeless style. They're made for Canadian winters and are comfy enough to wear all day.
Our special leather has a real vintage vibe. It’s a deep, rich, leather with a waxy look and feel that oozes character. The colour improves with distress - scuffs wear off quickly and develop a beautiful patina over time. This means that no two pairs will look the same!
We treat all our leathers and suedes early in the tanning process, before the boot is assembled. The treatment permanently closes all the pores in the leather hides, which adds an extra layer of protection for your feet. This means that you don't have to add any waterproofing sprays or conditioners to the leather. Our waterproofing process also protects your boots from stains – just wipe the leather down with a clean damp cloth.
The outsole is made from thermo-plastic rubber molded with a sawtooth sole pattern. Rubber has good traction in the rain and snow, and is also more durable than other man-made materials. Staying true to the classic design, we antique the rubber to match the colour of the original soles.
